It’s Time to Focus on Early Childhood Education in Texas

August 24, 2018 - The stars will continue to rise in Texas, especially with an investment in early childhood education. ProSolutions Training meets the needs of early childhood educators by offering high quality online training courses and an interactive and engaging customer experience.

For the 2016/17 school year, Texas Education Agency reported only 59% of children in the state of Texas were Kindergarten ready even though experts have found that 85-90% of a child’s brain develops by the age of 5. To see this statistic rise to 100%, it’s crucial to focus on the importance of early child care and education and by creating higher quality programs for all children in Texas.

Did you know that numerous research studies have found that at-risk children who attend higher quality programs are more prepared for school entry than children who did not attend quality child care programs?

The quality of early child care programs is often linked to the quality of the training provided for the teachers. In the last few years, many states have developed or adopted quality rating improvement systems (QRIS) to determine the quality of programs and provide professional development opportunities to help programs improve the quality of care they offer.

ProSolutions Training trainers are approved with the Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System (TECPDS) Texas Trainer Registry. This is a statewide system that approves early childhood trainers and their trainings. According to the Registry, trainers have gone through an approval process that is defined by a set of qualifications which include early childhood expertise and experience, and knowledge of adult learning theories and principles. The training approval process is linked to core competencies, principles of adult learning, and other standards, such as early learning guidelines.

PST has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and awards IACET CEUs to students at no additional cost. PST also offers the 120-hour CDA curriculum required to complete the formal education requirement for the nation Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential™ of the Council for Professional Recognition. PST also offers the 45-hour curriculum providing the coursework for the CDA. The Council requires renewal training to be specific to the credential type.
