Collaborative Art Project Idea
Open-ended art projects give children the chance to make choices, and develop creativity and fine motor skills by creating with their hands. Children experience so much joy when they are working on creative art making.
All they need are some crayons, paint, clay, or craft supplies to spark joy and imagination!
Although making art on one's own can be a valuable way to develop individual creativity skills, creating art as a team presents an opportunity for developing social and teamwork skills.
Try this out!
Pull out some large paper, perhaps poster paper,
some markers or crayons, and some magazines and child-friendly scissors. Then let your children get to work creating one big masterpiece together!
It can be a collage, a large mural, or an open-ended collaborative drawing.
They will learn to work together, communicate, share drawing techniques with one another, and more.
And, you can display the final masterpiece in your classroom to remind them of their amazing
teamwork abilities!
Pro Tip: Set some ground rules before the children begin to encourage them to work together and avoid fighting during this activity. Also, make sure each child has plenty of space to participate!
