Description
This training has been developed in cooperation with TN Department of Education and Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance (TECTA). Early language and literacy development begins at birth. A good start in language and literacy development is a strong predictor of successful literacy achievement in the early grades, reports of fewer literacy difficulties as students move through their academic career, and preparation for lifelong learning. The Read to be Ready initiative launched by Gov. Haslam is an effort to encourage gains in student performance not only to read, but also to develop students' capabilities as thinkers, problem-solvers, lifelong learners, and future leaders of Tennessee.
