Description
A code of ethics is a set of values and principles that guide the behavior of members of a profession. In early care and education, there are codes of ethics developed by various national organizations. In this course, we will introduce you, through an overview, to the Code of Ethical Conduct of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).* You will also learn how to use the code to solve ethical dilemmas.
This course will be divided into two parts:
- Part 1: NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct Overview
- Part 2: Using the Code in Ethical Dilemmas
*NAEYC - Founded in 1926, NAEYC is the world's largest organization working on behalf of young children with nearly 90,000 members, a national network of over 300 local, state, and regional Affiliates, and a global alliance of like-minded organizations. Membership is open to all individuals who share a desire to serve and act on behalf of the needs and rights of young children; for more information, visit www.naeyc.org.
