- List at least three developmental milestones for infant and toddler speech and language skills
- Develop activities that teachers can implement to support and enhance learning of speech and language in young children
- List at least two developmental milestones for speech and language skills in children at the ages of three, four and five
- Describe ways that teachers can support and enhance development of speech and language in children ages three to five
- Evaluate factors or "red flags" that may interfere with a child's development of speech and language and could require referral to a specialist

Description
This course will introduce you to speech and language development in infants and toddlers (birth to 36 months) and children ages three to five. You will learn milestones for normal speech and language development as well as ways to support language development in young children. You will also learn about problems that can interfere with a child's development of speech and language and when it may be appropriate for a possible referral to a specialist.
This course will be divided into two parts:
- Part 1 - Learning Language: Birth to 36 Months
- Part 2 - Learning Language: Ages Three to Five
