Description
The preschool years, from ages 3-5, are marked by significant physical growth and development. Preschoolers are more coordinated, show newfound strength, speed, and abundant energy. The ability to coordinate smaller muscles in the arms, hands, and fingers is referred to as fine motor development. Fine motor skills involve the use of small muscles such as those in the wrist and hand. Gross motor development is gained through regular play and movement. It involves the large muscles of the body.
In this course, we will review special considerations and foundations for planning activities to promote
fine motor development in pre-schoolers.
